Q:

I don't have the $250K for the Q3A engine license. How can I get a discount?
A:
We don't discount the engines on single title game licenses. If you need a lower priced option, consider the Quake II or Quake engines.

Q:
I am interested in licensing the Q3A engine. Where can I get the source to evaluate?
A:
If you are interested in the QUAKE III Arena technology and would like to experiment with it before contacting us, simply purchase a copy of the game, then download the game source and tools from our technology downloads page.
We don't make the graphics rendering source available without a binding agreement, as it is proprietary and confidential.

Q:
I want to develop a game with id technology, but my programming team isn't very experienced. How much help will id provide to my programmers?
A:
The support we provide is in the nature of *technical* support, not actual programming support. We don't assist in programming, and are not available to customize our technology for anyone. The Q3A engine license is best suited for teams that have commercial experience and are technically savvy.

Q:
What features are you planning on adding to your engine?
A:
While we have added a number of features over the last year to the QUAKE III Arena technology, and some features may continue to be added, we won't promise to add any specific feature. Basically, what you see is what you get. Of course, what you see is "the best".
